Long and thin and looking not unlike a bone, the magnificent Lake Berovo sits in one of the cleanest and peaceful areas in North Macedonia. Surrounding by dense forest that’s perfect for lazy walks, the lake itself is well loved by the locals as a place for swimming, fishing and generally messing about on the water. With the exception of a small handful of hotels and restaurants found scattered around its shoreline, facilities remain few and far between, although it’s not unusual to see the locals selling local produce including wonderful honey and mushrooms during the season.
