There are few more enjoyable experiences than a morning cup of coffee as the early sun bathes Málaga in brilliant light. Whether you like your caffeine long, short, black, white or somewhere in the middle, this is a city with plenty to do and plenty of coffee needed to get it done. Be sure to stop in one of these spots while in town.
All boxes ticked. A sunshine terrace accentuated by some seriously friendly service, Santa Canela is a great place to visit no matter the time of day. The espresso is faultless, and there are plenty of breakfast options for the hungry. Smoothies, teas, craft beers and more also fill the menu, and the regular coffee tasting sessions are a big hit.
Coffee and books — is there a better combination on the planet? We’re going to vote ‘no’ on that one, so of course we’re going to love Café con Libros. The terrace is plenty pleasant but we’re all about the interior, with creativity and history practically dripping from the walls. The coffee is great too, making this an excellent spot for creative caffeine hounds.
If you aren’t sure where to find us in Málaga, the magnificent Recyclo Bike Cafe is your best bet. This is true no matter the time of day, as the coffee in here is as refreshing as the craft beer is crisp, the service as friendly as the interior is intriguing, the breakfast as nourishing as the dinner is fulfilling. With a keen eye on sustainability and the wellness of our planet, Recyclo Bike Cafe is everything we want a culinary, craft and caffeine establishment to be. And bikes, don’t forget the bikes.
It might not have the most extravagantly creative name in the world, but why waste time with a fancy moniker when you can provide the quality that we find at Café Central? This is a Málaga institution, a cafe and restaurant with more than a century of experience behind it and plenty more years in the bank. Breakfast, dinner, coffee, tea, booze and tapas, this is Málaga in cafe form.
Juice, coffee, colour and character, El Ultimo Mono is a Málaga institution for good reason. The smiles at the door are a harbinger of things to come, and few cafes in Andalusia inspire as much cheer as this effervescent little spot. The idea is to provide the punters with 100% natural products in a convivial atmosphere, and El Ultimo Mono lives up to its ambitious plan.
