Toni Röösli started his zoo as a hobby in 1991, but these days he can host up to 2,000 visitors on a single weekend. Exotic and native animals live side by side here and there are approximately 480 animals representing some 96 species. Take a look at the tame cheetahs Max and Moritz, leopards, ducks, guinea pigs, snakes and lizards, llamas, ostriches, raccoons, kangaroos, penguins, porcupines and many more curious creatures. Children can ask for a pony or camel ride and the zoo also offers a variety of experiences that are meant to explain natural phenomena. Its staff respond to all kinds of questions in an effort to motivate both children and students. The zoo also claims that animal welfare is its greatest concern and local animal protection authorities confirm that the centre is humane. Bear in mind that visitors shouldn't feed the animals and that no pet dogs are allowed.
