Not too long ago record shops were a dying breed, but then something changed. Vinyl became cool again and record shops are now reappearing on the high street. However, the Old Town Record Store located up a staircase in the heart of the old town opened way back in 1976. It lived through the years of prosperity as well as the famine of the digital age and can finally once again savour the good times. It sells new and used vinyl and CDs including some gems from the lively, local music scene. If you'd like a tip then listen to local singer-songwriter Pink Spider and her award-winning album The Hunch – a perfect soundtrack to Lucerne. The store also has a selection of used books and it sells local concert and festival tickets.
