Mamma Leone on Mühlenplatz near the River Reuss specialises in classic Italian fare like pasta, pizza and fish and meat dishes with an emphasis on traditional home-style cooking, hence the name. The interior design is rather elegant and there's a pleasant terrace outside when the weather's good. We ordered the pollo con erbe (herb-encrusted chicken with a balsamic sauce) served with roasted potatoes and were not disappointed as the chicken was perfectly tender and the sauce pleasantly tangy. Mamma Leone also offers a great wine selection and has a small gelateria offering a number of different flavours of homemade ice cream.
