The all-new orange cabins of this cable car bring you from Lungern up to Turren where you're afforded quite a view of the Bernese Alps including the famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peeks. Turren is perfect for a peaceful day in a fascinating winter landscape. Up here you can do some winter hiking (on a marked two-hour trail), snowshoe hiking (snowshoes can be rented next to the valley station; trails are marked) or try a ski tour in the winter calm far from the hustle and bustle of busy ski slopes. Naturally, a restaurant is also available should you require a nutritional break. From Lucerne it's a 45-minute train ride to Lungern and then it's a 20-minute walk to the cable car.
