A great getaway, Klewenalp is a recreation area about 1600m above sea level with stunning views of Lake Lucerne and the Alps. You can take a picturesque aerial cable car here from the town of Beckenried or gain access via Emetten. On the mountain you'll find winter hiking and Nordic walking trails, 40km of slopes, several ski- and chairlifts and restaurants as well as accommodation. There are also several possibilities to sledge in the area, the longest run leading from Stockhütte all the way down to Emmetten (9km). You can rent all the gear you need for those activities on the spot. This is a good option for the whole family, be it for snow sports or a day in the snow with alpine views. Get there by train and bus via Stans, or for an interesting alternative you can even travel to Beckenried by ship.
