Jazzkantine was opened as an initiative of Lucerne’s jazz school in 1997. Since then it has become a staple of the old-town café scene. At street level it’s a café and restaurant with wooden furnishings in the style of a Dutch brown café offering sandwiches (made with their very own sourdough bread) and a small selection of dishes including vegetarian options. It’s popular among locals, has a down-to-earth atmosphere and is committed to using local produce from small businesses. Downstairs is a music venue used primarily for jazz concerts, but not only.
