This was Lucerne's jail from 1862 to 1998 and has since been transformed into a hotel. Most rooms are former cells, but bathrooms with shower and toilet have been added. Four cells called the 'unplugged' rooms remain in their original state for a real jail-like experience. There are also four suites which occupy other rooms, such as the original prison library. Comfort is basic but quite decent.
