Caravelle first opened in 1968 when it was named after a French airliner of that era, which was considered to be the most beautiful and coveted jet of its day. The restaurant is located right next to the Lion Monument and despite its name serves Italian and Swiss food of which we sampled the prosciutto e gorgonzola pizza and the penne with vodka. We liked the food, especially the creamy tomato sauce on the penne and the vodka was discreet but nevertheless added an extra dimension of flavour to the dish. The interior of the restaurant has a classic look and it's a good place for an unpretentious meal on white tablecloths in the city centre.
