Bürgenstock, including the all-new Bürgenstock Resort, is an easy place to reach, and although it only reaches a height of 874m above sea level, its 360° views are absolutely spectacular. The northern face, which rises out of the lake, is very steep while the opposite side consists of grassy slopes that drop gently down to Stansstad and Ennetbürgen, the perfect place for a relaxing hike. A cliff walk, several restaurants and hotels are located up here and the new Bürgenstock Resort features bars, tennis courts and an amazing spa
Another highlight is the Hammetschwand lift on the rocky northern cliff, the tallest outdoor elevator in Europe. The lift climbs up over 150m almost to the peak at 1,132m above sea level (runs mid-May - mid-October 09:30 - 11:30, 12:00 - 17:30 (Sun 18:00), closed in winter). To get to Bürgenstock take the shuttle boat to Kehrsiten-Bürgenstock and from there the spectacular funicular will bring you straight to the top (45 minutes all told).
