Yet another fantastic vineyard located on the picturesque slopes of the Oder, though this one has a particularly spectacular view of the river at sundown. Located 37km west of Zielona Góra, this small operation near the town of Krosno Odrzański cultivates only noble grape varieties such as riesling, pinot noir, gewürztraminer and pinot blanc. The owners, a young Polish-Australian team, established their winery in 2016 with a desire to restore the wine traditions that have slowly been revived in the region. Since then, they have been awarded numerous medals at competitions such as Polskie Korki, Enoexpo and the Winobraniowe Competition in Zielona Góra. Safe to say, the vintners at Marcinowice are true enthusiasts and are always ready to share their passion and knowledge about the history of the region, grapevine cultivation and wine production.
For this reason, the vineyard organises wine tasting and tours, lasting around 1.5 hrs and costing 20zł per person (if you want a cheese board, it's an extra +20zł). Since there's not much infrastructure on site, these events are hosted outdoors in a big tent, complete with tables and benches, a setting which is particularly magical during the aforemented sunsets! Keep in mind that there is no restaurant, accomodation, or shop on site, however, goods can be presented to visitors upon prior arrangement. There are also other planned events that are regularly listed on their Facebook page, so keep an eye out for that. Children are also welcome to join, and the winery is developing a new grape juice for kids!
