While the name krucza somewhat ominously describes the flocks of ravens that once took a liking to the area, this delightful vineyard is located in a charming, mid-forest enclave among the hills of Buchałów, a village 10km outside of Zielona Góra. Like elsewhere in Lubuskie, Buchałów's wine making traditions have undergone a revival, and the Krucza Winery - which began in 2001 - is the result of several years of tracing old grape varieties among the old vineyards of region. The good folk of Krucza frequently take part in Lubuskie wine events, such as the Winobus during the Wine Harvest, as competitors in the Lubuskie Marathon Szlakiem Wina i Miodu, as well as part of the organised groups tours around the region where wine and photography meet during the so-called 'Photo day'. At home base, however, it is possible to take part in wine tasting with prior reservation; other services like food and accommodation are not available. Prices and wine sales on location should be enquired about via telephone before visiting.
