If you’re getting into Conwy by train, you can’t really miss this graceful Georgian inn. A staple of the town since the long, long ago, the Erskine Arms has embraced its history with fantastic results, eschewing modernity in favour of subtle nods to its proud tenure as a stop for travellers and coachmen alike. The food is tailor-made to fill you up for a long journey, and the bar has more than enough choice to make that night’s sleep a deep one. The Sunday roasts are particularly impressive.
