“The Third Place” Opens its Doors to the Public
AVA Gallery and The Cookhouse Gallery have announced the grand opening of their first collaborative exhibition, "The Third Place", as part of an International Festival. This anticipated event promises to be a celebration of artistic diversity, featuring artworks from a selection of international artists. The festival is a result of collaboration between students of AVA-Academy of Visual Arts, Ljubljana and Chelsea College of Arts, London. Opening will take time simultaneously in Ljubljana and in London on 31 January 2024.
“The Third Place” showcases a curated selection of artworks across a diverse range of mediums. Taking place in London and Ljubljana simultaneously, this exhibition transcends traditional boundaries, attempting to bridge the liminal space that emerges when different cultures, identities, and perspectives intersect. The exhibition represents a space of hybridity, disrupting binary oppositions and allowing the emergence of new possibilities and understandings where new identities can be formed.
The opening will be the opportunity for collectors and art lovers to immerse themselves in the exhibited works. Attendees can look forward to an evening filled with conversation, appreciation, and a chance to meet some of the talented artists involved. In addition to the diverse array of works, the opening will feature performances across borders.
