Part of Hotel Galleria in the Old Town, the Secret Garden Bar begins just next to the hotel’s foyer and extends to include the charming outside ‘secret’ gardens on four interconnecting terraces. The hotel building dates from the 17th century and although it’s been extensively renovated has kept much of its beautiful architectural charm. The site’s history dates back even further. Underneath the terraces is a secret Roman-era tunnel that was once used to transport weapons to a fortress where the castle is now located. Today, the bar focuses on Slovene products, offering their guests traditional alcoholic drinks including wine from the award-winning Kmetija Tomažič winery. They also host small garden concerts and exhibit work from local Slovenian artists.
