Founded in 1999 with the aim of promoting theatre, puppetry and creativity in general among young people, the Mini Theatre now gives over 500 performances per year in both Slovenia and abroad, hosts various workshops for children, participates in a number of prestigious international festivals and also organises the annual Mini Summer International Puppet Festival in Ljubljana. Performances are frequently held at Ljubljana Castle as well as its own premises in the old town.
