Found in the village of Višnjevik in the breathtaking Goriška Brda wine district (the so-called Slovenian Tuscany), the Kristalvin Winery is open for visitors from Friday afternoon through weekend. The affable Alan Kristančič is as good a host as he is a winemaker, and spending a few hours in his centuries-old cellar or out on the terrace with sweeping views of the surrounding green hills is a real treat for all and sundry. In addition to various wines, they also make some exceptional olive oil, and depending on the season you can also expect fresh local cherries, apricots and more.
