The remains of a Roman residential building dating from the beginning of the 1st century that existed for some 500 years, this fascinating site underwent several changes over the centuries including a possible conversion to a bathhouse and, as the name suggests, during the 4th century the addition of an early Christian chapel and baptistery. The baptistery floor features a multi-coloured mosaic where it’s possible to see original inscriptions bearing the names of the notable Romans who funded its construction.
