Dekanter may not be the largest wine shop in town – in fact we're pretty sure it's the smallest – apparently: it's not the size that counts, it's how you use it. And Anja and Janez, the friendly couple who run the place, definitely make the most of the space, stocking an excellent selection of wine including interesting native varietals like Pinela, Zelen and Rebula from some of Slovenia's best producers, such as Sveti Martin, Batič, Edi Simčič, Sosolič, Klinec and Mansus. In addition to the wine, there's an assortment of goat, sheep and cow cheeses, as well as high quality schnapps. A store that sells time, not just wine, they also organize small expertly guided group tastings.
