MENT Ljubljana
MENT Ljubljana is the winter club event with a summer festival vibe. Each year it hosts more than 70 performers from around Europe at various venues across the city. It also attracts talented and experienced music professionals to a concurrent conference. Nights in Ljubljana Old Town
Nights in Ljubljana Old Town is a mini festival closing the Summer in Ljubljana Old Town festival and symbolically concluding the Imago Sloveniae Festival and Ljubljana’s summer events season. It traditionally features over 30 performances by some of the best Slovenian and International musicians from more than 15 countries. The project not only focuses on music from all over the world but also includes art exhibitions, literary events and workshops that will be taking place in the streets and squares of the old part of the city centre. One of the biggest charity events of Ljubljana’s calendar is the International Bazaar organised by SILA International Women’s Club. This fabulous event marks its 30th year, and more than 35 embassies and country representatives will introduce their traditions and culture through food, wine, cosmetics and souvenirs. Film Under the Stars
On midsummer nights, film stars come to life in the courtyard of Ljubljana Castle. A programme of this season’s best films has once again been put together by Kinodvor, in collaboration with the City of Ljubljana and Ljubljana Castle. The Ljubljana Wine Route, which notoriously gets more higgledy-piggledy the longer you stay on it, is a brilliant introduction to the various wines produced in the country and this festival brings it all together in one big celebration. LJFW: Ljubljana Fashion Week
The prominent theme of this year's fashion week is a strong concern for the environment and sustainable design with fresh and innovative approaches in fashion design. This time, the largest number of Slovenian designers and brands will be presented. Designers who have been loyal to LJFW since the beginning, as well as some new names. There will also be some interesting collaborations, and the opportunity for students to present their unbridled creativity to the public. Read more...
Artish
ARTish is a lovely initiative and a great place to pick up original gifts while also supporting the local economy and sustainable living. Taking place most Saturdays throughout the year, during the warmer months you can find two to three dozen local artists, artisans, craftspeople and general creative types selling their unique works on Gornji Trg in the old town, while in the winter they move indoors to venues such as Kino Šiška, Kucha and Pionirski Dom. Restaurant Week
Restaurant Week takes place twice a year, in spring and autumn, and gives diners a 10 day period to sample the delights created by some of the country’s most talented chefs. Diners new and old can enjoy a 3-course-meal for a very pocket-friendly price. During last year’s Restaurant Week over 100,000 people took advantage of the superb offers available. Restaurant Week has established itself as a great way to discover new places and introduced guests to many previously hidden gems around the country.
