Ave crux alba, a temporary exhibition in Slovenia's National Gallery, showcases 800 years of the Order of Malta in Slovenia with more than two hundred stunning, historically-rich artefacts from private collections displayed to the public for the very first time. The Order of Malta is the fourth oldest religious order in the West, with the first evidence of a Slovenian presence dating back to 1217. The pieces on display at the Ave crux alba exhibition offer a remarkable encounter with this historical European society.
