Until a few years ago Ljubljana’s oldest public swimming pool dating back to 1878 looked dead to all but the most ardent fan of urban decay - its empty pools plastered with graffiti had a definite dystopian charm. Though thanks to a complete renovation the historic Kopališče (public pool) is open again and looking better than ever. Located a short distance south-east of the city, Kolezija is perfect for serious swimmers or just recreational bathers with its modern facilities including Olympic, children’s and massage pools. The complex also has a pleasant café, as well as parkland and sunning terraces surrounding the pools.
