A number of different cafés have tried their luck in the long narrow space that runs the entire length of the Kurzeme shopping centre facing Lielā iela, but it seems that Upe~le has finally found the right recipe and is most likely here to stay. Not only can you order all of the standard café fare like coffee and cake, but also affordable local soups, salads and main courses. The views of trams and people passing by through the floor-to-ceiling windows are excellent, but bear in mind that you’ll have to use the facilities in the shopping mall should you need some time in the loo.
