Roughly a 40-minute walk from the centre of town, this birdwatching tower is located on a narrow man-made dike in the Lake Liepāja Nature Reserve. You’ll have to walk through a neglected industrial area to get here, but you’ll be rewarded with great views and the chance to see any of the 87 species of birds that live here (10 in the winter), 50 of which are listed as endangered. It’s also a popular place for local fishermen (licence required).
