The amber jewel in Liepāja’s cultural crown opened in the autumn of 2015 and its unconventional design is already making waves in this hip city on the Baltic Sea. The roundish concert hall, which is meant to resemble a piece of the prehistoric, semi-precious sap that washes up on the beach at Liepāja, is a welcome addition to city’s skyline which was previously dominated by a combination of medieval spires and 20th-century industrial smoke stacks. You can take the lift up to the 7th floor for incredible views or stop by for lunch at its café. Exhibitions are also held here. Follow its website or Facebook page for upcoming events.
