A hidden valley suspended at 750 metres above sea level between the Dhëmbeli and Lunzhëria mountains, the 30km-long Zagoria valley with its 10 small villages and the wild Zagoria Nature Park is well off the beaten path. Highlights include the wonderful old church at Hoshteva, St. Michael's monastery and the arched stone bridge at Nivan, and the 20-metre high Rrema e Doshnica waterfall. The roads leading here are steep and rocky, consider using a car with high clearance and be especially well-prepared in the mud and snow seasons.
