Leipzig-Halle International Airport is 17km northweast of the centre, and is used by Lufthansa, charter airlines to sunny destinations, and budget airlines such as Air Berlin, Germanwings, HLX and Hapagfly. The Airport Express train takes you from the Central Station to the airport every half hour from 4:50 to 23:50. Tickets cost €3.50 for adults and €2 for children. Taxis can be found outside of Terminal B. The ride to the city centre takes about 20 minutes and costs around €30. The airport is small but very modern and clearly laid out. A visitor centre in Terminal A even provides information and guided tours of the airport. Shops, bars and restaurants are found throughout, but are mostly concentrated in Terminal B. Cash machine and money exchange office are also located in Terminal B. The highlight of the airport is Visitors Hill, where you can watch the planes take off and land.
