In 1755, councilor Johann Caspar Richter had one of Saxony’s most beautiful mansions in rococo style built as a summer residence in Gohlis. The next 250 years saw many changes in ownership and purpose. Today it hosts concerts, readings, theatre and ballets. The ceiling painting, ‘The Life of Psyche’, adorning the Great Hall was created by A. F. Oeser (1779).
