Who doesn’t love a bit of old weaponry? Not that we’re encouraging medieval style violence, that would be absurd, but we do kinda like visiting these immaculate spots and seeing old armour and weapons that you absolutely won’t be taking on a plane any time soon. The Royal Armouries might just be the most fascinating museum in town, the northern wing of the eponymous museum that sits proudly as the oldest in the United Kingdom. The Indian elephant armour is the highlight, although we might just be saying that as we’re all about the lumbering cuties here at IYP, and more than 3,000 years of scrapping is documented in this engaging museum.
