Where it all began. North Bar has a fearsome reputation in Leeds, the first bar to take good beer seriously and to break free of the bitter and lager monopoly that almost strangled the city with mediocrity. The brains behind the Briggate spot have expanded their portfolio to include a number of other boozers around the city but North Bar remains our favourite, a haven of quality beer from around the globe. It is thought to be the first craft bar in Britain too, making it the perfect storm of history and taste. All the thumbs up, all of them.
