Open to the public since 1821, Leeds City Museum is the place to go if you’re looking to get to know the city a little deeper. The entire cultural history of the city is on show here through a variety of exhibits, none of which touch the people of the city as deeply as the so-called ‘Leeds Tiger’, a taxidermy-but-not-really tiger that was on the verge of the scrap heap, only to be saved by the city’s populace. Make of that what you will. The museum is free to enter, arguably the best of all the prices.
