Kyrenia’s advantageous location on the northern tip of Cyprus makes it an obvious magnet for sun-worshippers. Tremendous beaches surround the town, tailor-made for days spent soaking up rays and pondering whether to up sticks and move to North Cyprus full time. The sea’s influence on Kyrenia has been paramount from the get-go, and it remains the main pull for tourists today, albeit those in search of luxury and relaxation as opposed to plunder and booty. There are a few good beaches in town, but the best ones are generally found east and west of Kyrenia proper. If you love turtles, head to Alagadi, pronto.
