The village of Chlístovice stretches along both banks of the Chlístovice stream about 15 km from Kutná Hora. The first written record of the village dates back to 1359. The small Sion church rises on the east side behind the village. The Sion mill stands below it and the old Sion fort is on the opposite side. The Gothic Sion castle was founded in 1426-27 as a residence of Hussite Governor Jan Roháč of Dubé. In 1437, the castle was conquered by the royal army after 4 months and ceased to exist. Today there is a peaceful area here called the Valley of the Bylanka and Vrchlice, as well as an archaeological reserve . In the valley below the castle ruins you can see a commemorative plaque with a relief of Jan Roháč of Dubé.
