Čáslav
Places of interest include the original Gothic Church of St. Peter and Paul which encompasses the Romanesque Church of St. Michael from the beginning of the 12th century (now the sacristy). In June 1421, the Landtag gathered in the church, which entered history as the “Časlav Landtag”. In 1910, the remains of Jan Žižka were discovered in the chapel under the tower.
Town Museum – it was built in 1884 as one of the first in Bohemia directly for museum purposes. It offers visitors the opportunity to see original exhibitions from the 19th century.
Dusík Theatre – the oldest stone theatre in Eastern Bohemia (completed in 1869) with a plaque in honour of the composer and pianist Jan Ladislav Dusík.
Town walls – one of the oldest and best preserved in Bohemia with Otakar’s tower from the early 14th century.
Jewish synagogue – built in late 19th century according to the plans of Viennese architect Stiassný with facades in Moorish style.
Museum of Agricultural Technology – it is a branch of the National Museum of Agriculture in Prague specialising in the study and presentation of historical and contemporary technology used in agriculture. The unique collection of tractors and historical ploughs belongs among the most significant and largest collections of its type in Europe.
Vodranty sports complex – it is located in the pleasant environment of the town’s forest park. It offers visitors of all ages, countless opportunities for winter sports. The complex also includes space for skateboarding enthusiasts and a newly built piste for petanque.
Vodranty summer outdoor swimming complex – in addition to a swimming pool, it also offers a beach volleyball court and children’s playground.
Town spa – it has undergone total reconstruction. Apart from the swimming pool, the spa offers a sauna and steam.
