The picturesque village of Bohdaneč lies in the valley of the Pilsky Stream 5 km from Zbraslavice. The written record of Bohdaneč dates back to 1233, when it was sold by the Grand Master of the German Order of Crusaders with the Red Star. The village experienced its greatest boom in the early 16th century, when King Vladislav Jagiello promoted it to a town with many rights. Today it mainly attracts visitors with its Bohdanka View Tower, the tallest structure made of so-called “round timber” in Europe. There is also a regional distillery and cider house in Bohdaneč offering 100% natural products from their own production.
