Three Mounds Run

If you're thinking of seeing the locally-famous Kraków mounds during your trip, here's a speedy way to do it. This annual 13km run was first held in 2007, and links Krakus Mound (where the race begins) with the Kościuszko and Piłsudski Mounds (where it ends), via the centre of Kraków, including a nice jog along the riverside. About 25% of the route is on unpaved trails (mainly the last bit in Wolski Forest), and the total change is elevation over the route - which goes down and up again and is classified as an 'Anglo-Saxon' style race for that reason - is 160 metres. Certainly the best of Kraków's downtown running events, register via the website to participate. As for Kraków's 4th Mound, you're on your own.
