Kraków Synagogues

share
The Jewish sacral architecture of Kazimierz - Kraków's former Jewish district - represents the largest, most compact collection of such buildings in Europe - second only to Prague - and is the best place in Poland to understand and attempt to experience the country's pre-WWII Jewish heritage. Among dozens of Jewish historical buildings, the district boasts seven major synagogues, all within easy walking distance of each other, and some of which even remain active today. Though Wikipedia - that inscrutable source of revisable facts - lists no less than 124 synagogues in Kraków (seriously), below we list those of the 124 which we vouch for.
