Covering over 21,000 square metres, this massive covered market northwest of the centre in the neighbourhood of Prądnik Biały is the largest such market in all of Małopolska. Located right on a major thoroughfare, merchants bring their goods here daily from as far away as Sandomierz, and you can basically find the cheapest prices in town on whatever it is you want: fresh produce, meat, fish, dairy, flowers, clothings, cosmetics, household goods, you name it. Established in the 1950s, though the market feels like a total throwback to a different era, it has actually improved immensely in the last 20 years thanks to a proper roof, over 200 permanent (mostly brick) merchant stalls (plus over 100 temporary stalls) and proper bathroom facilities.
