Of the kind once found lurking behind every fold in the Iron Curtain, this cultural centre in Nowa Huta operates the on-site Sfinks Cinema, off-site but nearby Klub Kuźnia cultural centre (Os. Złotego Wieku 14) and next door ArtZona (Os. Górali 4), as well as several libraries and art galleries. Though a focal point for Nowa Huta’s creative community, it would be of little interest to the outsider if it wasn’t for the C-2 Południe cafe inside - one of few in the neighbourhood (open 09:30 - 21:00), and the superb collection of original paintings and sculptures on display up the stairs, all of them the work of the now infamous Kraków Group.
