For all intents and purposes, Kraków's New Year's Fair is an extension of the popular Christmas Fair, which technically ends on December 26th, at which time the name simply changes to 'New Year's Fair,' there is some minor merchant turnover and things carry on in the same festive spirit as they have for the entire holiday season with no one the wiser that any change has even take place; because essentially no change has occured. Should this even be considered a separate event? Probably not, but the organisers make a distinction between the two, so we will as well. All you really need to know is that after Christmas, Kraków's Holiday Fair continues until January 6th.

Occupying almost half of the market square, the fair features dozens of charming wooden huts selling all kinds of regional gifts and souvenirs, including sweets, knitwear, handicrafts, jewellery, pottery and more, plus regional food vendors and hot mulled wine (‘grzaniec’), and a stage with a full programme of cultural acts. You know, exactly like the Christmas Fair.
