Moving from the down-at-heel Tytano complex straight onto the market square is quite the leap, but this place has never lacked for pretension. Certainly more Varsovian than Cracovian, Międzymiastowa flaunts a now-familiar post-industrial urban glam that is aimed at Poland's growing upper-middle class, for whom loud electronic music and gin mixers are apparently just as appropriate in the middle of the day as after dark. The menu of metropolitan eats - everything from burgers and pizza to curry and pad thai - is actually quite good, but you get the impression that it's the conceit of being at a fancy party that brings people inside. On Friday and Saturday nights they quit pretending to be a restaurant and host elaborate clubbing events in which models gyrate above the crowds and everyone looks amazing on the socials. Nevermind Europe's largest medieval market square, this place is desperate for your attention.
