After 44 years of homeless wanderings and performing in the public space, Kraków's KTO Theatre (Teatr KTO, or WHO Theatre) finally has a place to call their own. Organisers of the ULICA Street Theatre Festival and many other theatrical events, Teatr KTO was established back in 1977 and has been under the direction of Jerzy Zoń ever since. Their new headquarters is a modern, multifunctional facility that can be integrated into its surroundings - the cliffs of Krzemionki and Bednarski Park in Kraków's Podgórze district, or create a closed, minimal and monochromatic space for theatrical expression. Formerly the Kino Wrzos movie theatre, the design of the building preserves the original white facade, contrasting starkly with the black cube that hovers behind it. Known for both indoor and outdoor performances, they also organise workshops for kids; check their website to see what's on.
