Krzysztof Penderecki, one of the most important contemporary Polish composers, is the visionary behind this top musical centre surprisingly located in the picturesque village of Lusławice, 100km west of Kraków and 25km south of Tarnów. Penderecki conceived of the Centre as a modern venue for talented young musicians to interact, study under and learn from established artists and experts, and to experiment with new interpretations of classical and contemporary music in state-of-the-art surroundings. The Centre boasts a versatile and acoustically pristine 650-seat concert hall, lecture halls, rehearsal rooms, a library, recording studio, accommodation facilities and a terrace suited for open-air concerts. Hosting regular master classes, workshops, and literally hundreds of concerts per year, the Penderecki Centre exerts a huge cultural influence on the entire region of Małopolska.
