Kraków has been named the European Capital of Gastronomic Culture 2019. To celebrate this event, local restaurateurs are preparing special menus promoting Kraków's culinary heritage. It is a celebration of locally grown products used in traditional recipes. It is the culinary story of Poland, Polish families, and individuals. The project, conceived by chef Adam Chrząstowski, encourages local restaurateurs to create and serve historical dishes based exclusively on Polish cuisine and tradition, with a special focus on local produce. It is a path of discovery of Polish historical identity, meant to revive a sense of pride. Clean your palate and get ready for barszcz, kasza, flaki and pasztet! Participating restaurants include Art, Albertina, Baroque, Biała Róża, Copernicus, Enoteka Pergamin, Filipa 18, Fiorentina, Four at Hotel Grand Ascot, Grand Signature at Grand Hotel, Rubinstein, Kogel Mogel, Miodova, Piano Rouge, Pod Aniołami, Pod Nosem, Stara Zajezdnia, Szara Gęś, Trezo, Wesele and Wierzynek.
