Józef Czapski was a Polish artist and author. The exhibition of his paintings, drawings, and diaries from the collection of the National Museum in Krakow, as well as from the collections of Krystyna Zachwatowicz-Wajda and Andrzej Wajda, is the most complete presentation of Józef Czapski’s paintings at the Józef Czapski’s Pavilion. He was a prolific painter as well as a writer of essays on art, literature, and philosophy. In his diaries, he carefully observed the relationship between words, drawings, watercolours. The exhibition is honoring both Czapski the painter and Czapski the writer.
