Masakazu Miyanaga has experienced a wild 25-year ride since his 1995 arrival in Poland. Fresh out of the University of Tsukuba at the tender age of 25, he was a Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) envoy, kick-starting his journey at the Myślenice Cultural Centre, only to become a student intern at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Life happened, acquaintances multiplied, and he transformed into a bona fide Kraków local, relishing Polish cuisine, sipping Polish water, and mastering the art of Polish conversation. Now, as Miyanaga hits the big 5-0, his life is a perfect half-and-half blend of Japan and Poland, just like his art. His works, gilded with European flair but infused with Japanese spirit, mirror this unique fusion. East meets West, and the old gracefully entwines with the new. In a world of digital chaos, Masakazu Miyanaga invites you to slow down and savor the craftsmanship of the past, where tradition meets innovation in an exquisite half-and-half dance.
