Local live music power couple Witold and Janina Wnuk have opened this unique concert venue in the former pre-war shoe factory of Janina's grandfather. Drawing on their experience organising Kraków's month-long Summer Jazz Festival, as well as hundreds of concerts and even recordings by Polish and international artists, Globus figures to be a fixture of Kraków's live music scene. Located over the river in Podgórze, explore one of the city's most interesting neighbourhoods before dropping into this understated, no frills venue for dinner and a show. In addition to a full bar and extensive wine list, Globus serves snacks and entrees, including pierogi filled with baked duck and veal ragout. With an eclectic lineup of jazz, blues, soul music, vocal recitals and the niche Polish genre of 'sung poetry,' concerts start every day at 19:30 except Monday, with only Friday and Saturday charging admission. Tickets can be purchased at ticketmaster.pl, at the Cracovia Music Agency office (ul. Karmelicka 52/1, open Mon-Fri 10:00-17:00, tel. 12 357 6922), and at the club before the concert.
