Giraffe opened with a flourish in 2006, helping raise the bar of the local hostel scene, but the years haven't been kind to Giraffe. Found directly north of the Old Town, the location is fine, except that there's also a club in the building which can make sleep a challenge. The management hasn't done the greatest job of keeping up the place, and we've heard complaints that in addition to noise, cleanliness can also be an issue here. In addition to internet, laundry and a very basic breakfast, there's also a bar and small common area. Overall the design is minimal and rather dark rather than warm and welcoming, and the standards seems to jive with the fact that this is one of the cheapest options in town.
