This exhibition showcases the unique gilding work of Frances Federer, a British craftswoman and artist with Jewish roots, who has resided in Poland since 2016. Gilding - a technique in which surfaces are given the shine of precious metals - is a key artistic element of Federer's later works. The artist uses, among others, the verre églomisé technique, which involves decorating glass by applying thin layers of metal and creating patterns by scratching a motif on a blackened background. The titles of her works are subtle interpretative suggestions - hints, rather than explanations. Instead of imposing a single, closed narrative, they open up space for individual reflection, inviting the viewer to their own emotional journey through the artist's world. This is the first presentation of Federer's work in Poland, which has been organised in cooperation with the Consulate General of Austria in Krakow.
